House Fire Injures One, Causes Estimated $30K In Damage
A house blaze in Santa Rosa injured a resident Tuesday afternoon and caused thousands of dollars worth of damage, according to fire officials. At 1:22 p.m. Tuesday, crews received a report of a structure fire near Seventh and Humboldt streets in Santa Rosa. They were advised that a resident may still be inside a burning residence, fire officials said.

CJ Nickolas – Brentwood – Taekwondo. As previously reported, Carl “CJ” Nickolas, Jr. of Brentwood is competing for gold in taekwondo in his first Olympics during the Paris 2024 Games. He was trained by Givans – his dad – until he was 18 and had heart surgery in 2020. As of last December, Nickolas was ranked number two in the world.

Fast food workers urge more minimum wage increases
The California Fast Food Workers Union is urging the state to again raise the minimum wage for fast-food employees.According to a letter sent to the statewide Fast Food Council last month, the union is asking for a $20.70 wage starting in 2025 and a $21.40 wage in 2026. The proposed yearly 3.5% increase is a response to rising inflation, the letter said.The council was formed to establish wages and regulations for the fast-food industry through legislation signed by Gov. Rock, Funk, Monk, and The Dead
In the summer of 2018, trumpeter/vocalist Paul Schneider and guitarist Hannes De Kassian began their musical journey, exploring jazz and funk in clubs, bars and wineries across Sonoma and Marin counties. Their progress was disrupted by the global pandemic in 2020. But Paul reconnected online with his close friend and renowned drummer, Atma Anur, leading to a personal musical revelation. They began collaborating on new songs, enlisting De Kassian and other talented musicians remotely. Their efforts resulted in Funkalypse, released in summer 2023, which quickly gained nationwide airplay and nearly a quarter million streams on Spotify.
