TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A man was found dead after a house caught fire in Inverness on Tuesday.

Citrus County Fire Rescue was called to the home on East Live Oak Lane, which was about 50% involved in fire, at 6 p.m.

The fire department said it was difficult for firefighters to search the home due to “significant debris blocking pathways.” Crews extinguished the fire about 15 minutes later and found a man dead while searching the home.

They also extinguished a bonfire at the home next door. The fire department said no one was found near the second fire.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office are investigating he cause of the fire.
