LANSING, Mich. – An jury has found an Oscoda Twp. man guilty of threatening found Iosco County Prosecuting Attorney James A. Bacarella, who was once his landlord. 40-year-old Dominque Simo was found guilty of one count of Malicious Use of a Telecommunications Device for threatening Bacarella, announced Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel.

Oscoda Township Man Found Guilty of Threatening His Former Landlord, Iosco County Prosecutor Bacarella
LANSING – On Friday, an Iosco County jury seated in the 23rd Circuit Court found Dominque Simo, 40, of Oscoda, guilty of one count of Malicious Use of a Telecommunications Device for threatening Iosco County Prosecuting Attorney James A. Bacarella, announced Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel. The two men had a previous landlord-tenant relationship. The penalty for the misdemeanor is up to 6 months in jail and/or a $1,000 fine, and the State will seek a sentence inclusive of mandated mental health treatment.

Man Arrested In Fatal Iosco County Crash
A 34-year-old Hale man was arrested in Iosco County Tuesday for impaired driving resulting in the death of another man. State Police troopers were called to the scene on M-65 near Slosser Trail around 11:30 P.M. after a collision between a 2013 Ford Taurus and a 2015 Fiat 500. Investigators say the man was driving the Taurus heading north and turned directly into the path of the Fiat, driven by a 42-year-old Hale man. That man was critically injured and died later at a hospital. A 22-year-old Hale woman, who was the victim’s passenger, suffered minor injuries, as did the at fault driver.
