Caitlin Clark declares for 2024 WNBA Draft

Caitlin Clark will likely be taking her talents to Indianapolis.

Clark, the Iowa basketball phenom and women’s college basketball’s all-time leading scorer , announced on Thursday that she will be entering the upcoming 2024 WNBA Draft.

The first pick is held by the Indiana Fever.

Clark is a senior, but could have had another year of eligibility due to NCAA COVID-19 modifications.

“While this season is far from over and we have a lot more goals to achieve, it will be my last one at Iowa. I am excited to be entering the 2024 WNBA Draft,” Clark wrote on X.

“It is impossible to fully express my gratitude to everyone who has supported me during my time at Iowa — my teammates, who made the last four years the best; my coaches, trainers, and staff who always let me be me; Hawkeye fans who filled Carver every night; and everyone who came out to support us across the country, especially the young kids.

“Most importantly, none of this would have been possible without my family and friends who have been by my side through it all. Because of you, my dreams came true.”

Clark leads the nation with averages of 32.2 points and 8.7 assists per game, while also averaging 7.4 rebounds.

Iowa is 25-4 this season, ranking sixth in the latest AP poll.

Clark’s boyfriend, Connor McCaffery , the son of Iowa coach Fran McCaffery and a former player on the Hawkeyes, is an assistant coach on the Pacers’ staff.

Iowa reached the NCAA Tournament finals last year, losing to LSU .
