(Eugene, OR) – Iowa Hawkeye senior, Jordan Johnson, concluded his time with Iowa by earning Second-Team All-American Awards. Despite competing throughout the beginning of the season with an injury, he was able to make it all the way to the NCAA Championships for the first time since 2022.

The Illinois native threw a distance of 56.74 meters in the weight throw to earn him 16th place on an NCAA National Level. Iowa Track and Field Director Joey Woody praised his resilience throughout the season stating, “I’m very proud of how Jordan competed this season after starting the year off dealing with an injury. He fought back and competed well at the Big Ten Championships and West Regional to qualify for this weekend. He has had a great career as a Hawkeye and we will miss him wearing the Iowa uniform.”

Johnson also now ranks as Iowa’s sixth-best thrower in the discus and holds the program’s tenth-best distance in the weight throw. He also received high remarks from Ray Robinson, the team’s throws coach after he emphasized the challenges Johnson overcame in the past year due to injury, highlighting the remarkable nature of his achievements.

In addition to Johnson’s success, the Hawkeyes’ men’s team secured two points at the NCAA Championships, thanks to javelin first-team All-American Mike Stein.
