15-year-old found safe, AMBER Alert canceled

UPDATE: Ophelia has been found safe and the AMBER Alert has been canceled, the Iowa Department of Public Safety said.

IOWA CITY, Iowa — An AMBER Alert has been issued for a missing 15-year-old girl from Iowa City.

At around 7:04 p.m. an AMBER Alert was issued for 15-year-old Ophelia Anne Barton. Ophelia is about 5 feet tall and weighs about 80 lbs. She has brown hair and hazel eyes.

According to the alert, Ophelia is believed to be with 42-year-old Lindsey Anne White. Lindsey is about 5 feet 5 inches and weighs about 138 lbs. She has auburn hair and green eyes.

Lindsey is believed to have left Iowa City with Ophelia in a 2014 blue Jeep Compass Sport with Iowa plates LIU044.

Anyone with information about their whereabouts or anyone who sees them is asked to call 911.
