Nora Wilhelm, Trace Robertson earn Press-Citizen Athlete of the Week honors

Iowa City Regina volleyball player Nora Wilhelm and Clear Creek Amana football player Trace Robertson were voted by Press-Citizen readers as the Press-Citizen's Athletes of the Week.

Wilhelm earned girls Athlete of the Week with 49% of the vote. Clear Creek Amana volleyball player Bailey Simpson placed second with 35% of the vote.

Wilhelm recorded a team-high 35 assists during Regina's victory over Sigourney on Tuesday, Oct. 1. The Regina sophomore averaged 11.7 assists per set against the Savages. She also posted four aces and three digs.

Robertson earned boys Athlete of the Week with 60% of the vote. Iowa City High football player Dawson Kahl took home second place with 17% of the vote.

Robertson made big defensive plays during CCA's 56-0 shutout over Burlington on Friday, Oct. 4. The CCA senior scooped up a blocked punt and returned it about 15 yards to give the Clippers a 14-0 lead in the second quarter. He also posted 5.5 tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss.
