Koe Wetzel Debuts Unreleased Fan-Favorite Song “Casamigos” At Iowa Show Last Night

Now we just need the studio version.
Koe Wetzel just kicked off his Damn Near Normal tour last past weekend, and he included an unreleased song in the set list last night that fans have been begging for called “Casamigos.”
It was originally included on the tracklist for his recent 9 Lives album, though not long before the record came out it was swapped for Koe’s cover of the late rapper XXXTENTACION’s “Depression & Obsession.”
Fans were upset, because Koe had already shared a teaser of “Casamigos,” and I’ve seen comments on almost everything he’s posted online since that they want to hear the full song.
And it’s easy to understand why, because I loved the sound of “Casamigos” even in the first short teaser he shared (I’ve also heard the studio cut, and I think it will put up massive streaming numbers once it’s out), and fans are clearly taking to it already which is a good sign.
Of course, most artists can only hope that fans want to hear their songs as badly as Koe’s fans do in this particular case.
In an interview I had with him leading up to the album release, Koe said it’s “one of [his] favorite songs on the record,” and he has teased that a deluxe version of 9 Lives is coming, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s included on that sometime in the near(ish) future, hopefully:
“It’s one of my favorite songs on the record, so we kind of want to let it have its own time.”
But for now, you can check out the live version he played at the Mississippi Valley Fair in Davenport, Iowa yesterday, which is the first time we’ve heard it live and in full at a concert:
Here’s the studio teaser he shared a while back:
