‘Shrek the Musical Jr.’ carries the message of acceptance
Stagecrafters Youth Theatre is gearing up to present “Shrek the Musical Jr.” at the Baldwin Theatre in downtown Royal Oak from July 19-28. “Shrek the Musical Jr.” is based on the DreamWorks Animation film and the book by William Steig. It tells the tale of an unlikely hero, Shrek, an ogre who’s a bit grumpy, but lovable. An 18-year-old West Bloomfield man was severely injured after falling from the top of a Birmingham parking structure Friday, police said. Eastpointe man gets four years in fatal Detroit drunk driving crash
An Eastpointe man was ordered to serve four to 15 years in prison for causing the death of a man in a traffic crash on the east side of Detroit on New Year’s Eve morning. De-L Alekshay-Makalo Wesley, 49, received the sentence last Friday from Judge Kiefer Cox of Wayne Court Circuit Court in Detroit for the death of Dylan Bradford, 27, of Detroit, in a crash on Hayes Road four blocks north of Houston-Whittier. The incident also injured Christian Peoples, 35, of Inkster, according to court records.
