The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, in conjunction with the Macomb County Health Department, is currently dealing with the fallout of a confirmed measles case in Macomb County. A child diagnosed with measles on July 3, 2024, has potentially exposed others across southeastern Michigan between June 24 and July 2, 2024. According to the Detroit Free Press, specific exposure sites include Motel 6 in Warren and the Children's Hospital of Michigan Troy.

The robotics team will build robots from scratch and use them to complete tasks against opponents during intense competitions every year. Laura Hasselbach, the head coach of the Cyber Dragons, has guided the team for two years. She was quick to point out that the actual building and competing of the robots is only part of the equation. In fact, when it comes to the community outreach the team does, it is often held in higher regard.

Mother and Daughter Perish in Devastating House Fire in Hazel Park
Tragedy struck early yesterday morning in Hazel Park as fire officials reported that a 59-year-old woman and her 80-year-old mother were found dead after a house fire. The Hazel Park Fire Department, upon responding to a call made by a passerby who noticed smoke on Eight Mile Road, arrived to find the home at 1561 East Muir Avenue heavily engulfed in flames. The fire was eventually extinguished, but not before claiming the lives of the two residents, as reported by CBS News Detroit.
Port Huron prepares for a parade
Wednesday’s Rotary International Day Parade is the official kick off to this year’s Blue Water Fest. The parade will begin at Huron and Glenwood Avenue, continue south through the downtown business district, and turn east on Court Street to the disbanding area.
