NEK July 30 Flash Flooding Response
Many areas, including St. Johnsbury, were hit with up to 8 inches of rain overnight into July 30. There is widespread damage in some areas, with flash flood warnings still in effect (with more storms on the way in the next 48 hours and rivers still yet to crest). Area officials are asking folks in hard hit areas to not leave their homes if they don’t need to due to roads out and high water. More information is at Vermont Public.
Bethel tractor-trailer rollover results in driver injuries
BETHEL — A tractor-trailer rollover on VT RT 107 near North Road early Tuesday morning resulted in suspected significant injuries to the driver, who was later transported to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center for treatment. Vermont Council of Aging receives grant for senior dog care
Barre, VT- The Central Vermont Council of Aging received a grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization on Monday to help with the care and safety of senior dogs . The Grey Muzzle Organization awarded grants to animal welfare groups, with the goal of helping local senior dogs and their communities. CVCOA was one of 400 applicants and one of 100 organizations to receive a grant.
