As someone who lives in Boonville, knowing that there is an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner coming up, I am going to have a hard time passing it up. ISP INVESTIGATING 2 VEHICLE FATAL TRAFFIC CRASH
(EFFINGHAM) The Illinois State Police are continuing to investigate a two vehicle traffic crash that occurred at approximately 5:45 this past Friday evening in Jasper County. Troop 9 Headquarters reports that a car, driven by 47 year old Jason Nation of Springfield, Illinois, was traveling westbound on Illinois Route 33, about three miles northwest of Newton, when he attempted to pass another westbound vehicle, and struck an eastbound utility van head-on. While Nation was pronounced deceased at the scene while the driver of Unit Two, 31 year old Christopher R. Huckelby of Jasper, Indiana, and a passenger, 47 year old Jason J. Trentz of Raleigh, Illinois, were both taken to area hospitals with injuries. Route 33 was closed for nearly seven hours for the crash investigation and clean up. Emergency crews from Jasper County assisted the ISP at the accident scene. No other details are available.
