A lady has come up with a clever trick for ensuring all the plants in your garden are watered just right.

With this tip, there's no need to fret about giving your greenery too much or too little H2O they'll help themselves to exactly what they need.

A TikTok user, @thebalancedfoodblog, demonstrated the watering technique in a fresh clip. You'll only need some terracotta watering stakes and an old vino bottle.

The post was captioned: "A must have in the garden for me, gives plants and their roots the perfect amount of water."

"They are inexpensive and do not take a lot of space. Perfect if you cannot water the garden daily."

The video shows how it's done: scatter these spikes throughout your beds or use one or two for plant pots, size-depending.

Refill your empty wine bottle with aqua and plant it nozzle-down into the spike. The water will trickle through, giving your soil and plants a steady sip.

You can snag terracotta spikes from Amazon without breaking the bank. Ten will set you back around $28.

TikTok viewers were keen on the gardening tip.

"The most genius thing I have seen in a while," enthused one user.

Another commented to offer a history lesson: "This stems from a Native American technique where they would bury these big bellied terra cotta vases essentially and water them to keep the soil and roots wet! So amazing."

Another individual chipped in with their own watering hack: "use wine bottles, but I just stick them in with no stakes needed. Works perfectly! ".
