McDonald's is turning up the heat with their latest menu addition, the hefty Big Arch burger .

The fast-food giant is currently testing this new beast of a burger in select markets abroad, including Canada and Portugal.

McDonald's head honcho Chris Kempczinski spilled the beans on an earnings call that they're considering a wider launch if it proves popular.

Packing two beef patties, a triple layer of cheese, a mix of crispy and slivered onions, pickles, lettuce, and a unique Big Arch sauce, it's a real belly-filler.

"It's a quintessential McDonald's burger that satisfies guests' hunger with a twist on our iconic flavors," declared McDonald's Canada.

According to Business Insider, this whopper of a burger tips the scales at 14 ounces and delivers a gut-busting 1,065 calories almost maxing out the recommended daily fat intake for adults.

For a bit of perspective, the heaviest hitter on the U.S. menu right now, the Double Quarter Pounder, seems almost lightweight at 8 ounces and 760 calories.

McDonald's is making this bold move as they've noticed customers are gravitating more towards larger burgers rather than premium ones.
