'I refuse to let my wife name our baby after her ex - she doesn't get it'

A man has sought advice from Reddit after his wife caused a row over naming their unborn baby , which turned out to be the same as her ex's.

She's expecting their first son soon and they've been mulling over names .

At first, he was chuffed with one of her suggestions , only to find out it was also the moniker of an old flame she'd been serious with before meeting him.

Posting on Reddit , he shared: "When I realized this, I told her I wasn't comfortable naming our child after her ex. She argued it was just a name she always liked and that it didn't mean anything."

Despite her assurances, he sees the name's an insult to their love life. She can't see his point, though.

Following a hefty spat, she's accused him of overreacting. Redditors backed him, with one saying bluntly: "Baby names are a two yes situation. One no means NO, find something else you both can agree on."

Another cheekily advised using a daft comparison: "Tell her you want to name him Sparkles, after your favorite stripper. You just 'love the name.'"

"It's somewhat plausible that it's a name she just likes, but it's unforgivable that she has the nerve to argue with you after telling her you're uncomfortable."
