    Overlooked Irish town in country's biggest county should high on your list of places to visit

    Tourists should consider staying in this overlooked Irish town when they are exploring the country's largest county full of natural scenery. Skibbereen is one of Co Cork 's loveliest towns.

    However, it is not one that many people consider staying in when they are visiting this beautiful corner of Ireland. The town is often overshadowed by other destinations like Cork City , Kinsale , and Cobh.

    But trust us, Skibbereen is a place that should be on your list. It is located in West Cork, making it a great place to stay if you plan on exploring that popular part of the Wild Atlantic Way .

    The small market town is known for its friendly people, vibrant pubs , and great places to eat. There are also things like the Skibbereen Heritage Centre.

    For history buffs, Skibbereen is a great place to be. There are plenty of ancient sites that tell you about what life was like in Ireland many years ago, such as Knockdrum Stone Fort, Gurranes Stone Row, and Drombeg Stone Circle.
