CosMc's is officially open: All you need to know about the McDonald's spinoff

CosMc’s, the new beverage-forward concept by McDonald's , has officially opened after months of trialing the new restaurant, with the first reviews seemingly quite positive .

The first four locations opened their doors and drive-thru lanes in San Antonio, Texas on Thursday. Another six restaurants are set to open in the coming months.

The company announced in a press release that "fans will have the opportunity to try free samples of menu items and receive exclusive merch for the first 100 customers each day."

The release of the full menu has sparked excitement, with an expansive list of customizable drink options. One example is the Sprite Moonsplash - a sparkling Sprite with citrus and sweet vanilla flavors that are served with dried blueberries and a lemon wheel over ice.

CosMc’s might be a new favorite for a caffeine boost on the go, with eye-catching items like the Sour Cherry Energy Burst and Churro Cold Brew Frappé. Their traditional coffee menu is also accompanied by some exciting and experimental flavors like the turmeric latte and S’mores cold brew.

Customers also have the option of choosing fun add-ons, like fruity popping boba or extra energy shots to an array of menu items. They also cater to gym-goers with their Beach Protein Frappé and option to add a protein shot to regular drinks.

Though the menu focuses mainly on drinks, there are a range of small-bites available, including breakfast sandwiches, pretzel bites, and the brand new, McPops, which appear similar to a donut hole treat stuffed with different flavored fillings.

And if you have suffered the disappointment of a broken McDonald’s ice cream machine, fear not. CosMc’s has a wide variety of ice cream options, from the fan-favorite McFlurry to a range of soft-serve sundaes.

There is no word yet about CosMc’s plans to expand to other states, but McDonald’s did mention last year that it plans to open nearly 10,000 McDonald’s Corporation restaurants worldwide over the next four years - a pace of growth that would be unprecedented even for the world’s largest burger chain.
