Golden State Warriors' Draymond Green felt compelled to take a swing at his own head coach Steve Kerr's decision-making during the thrilling Olympic Games semi-final showdown between Team USA and Serbia.

Despite facing a hefty 17-point mountain to climb, thanks to the mighty efforts of NBA MVP Nikola Jokic propelling Serbia forward, Team USA staged an impressive rebound.

In the heated match , it was the Warrior's Steph Curry who stole the limelight with an outstanding 36-point game, while LeBron James notched up the second-ever triple-double in US Men's Basketball Olympic history.

Yet, Green made waves on his Draymond Green Show by arguing that Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics , an undeniable talent and NBA champ, deserved court time. The hoop star voiced his discontent over Tatums puzzling absence from Kerr's playing rotation as he was sidelined once more.

"Not playing [Jayson Tatum] was wrong," declared Green. "We all know it was wrong. He should've played. He didn't... From the outside looking in, [Kerr's response] comes off as, 'We made a mistake as a coaching staff.'"

After surviving the nail-biter with a 95-91 win, Team USA is prepped for a climactic face-off against the host country on Saturday afternoon. Speculation abounds over whether Tatum will finally see action or if a concealed injury is to blame.

Tatum's mum, Brandy Cole, swiftly took to the social waves to discuss her son's puzzling lack of playtime. She affirmed Tatum isn't injured and shared her own befuddlement with Team USA's perplexing snub of the basketball ace.

"No, he not," she returned fire when someone asked if her son was hurt. "But if you find out what's going on please let me know - unacceptable and makes NO SENSE."

Coach Kerr isn't swayed by outside opinions and is keen on keeping the US men's basketball Olympic title, armed with a squad touted as one of the best in Olympic history. Speaking about player Jayson Tatum's time on the court, Kerr made it clear the issue wasn't with Tatum's performance.

"It's not what I'm not seeing from Jayson; it's what I've seen from the other guys," commented Kerr in remarks recorded by the Boston Globe on Friday. "Like I've said many times during this tournament and the last six weeks, it's just hard to play 11 people, even in an NBA game."

"Our second unit was not great last night, but that group has been one of the bright spots on this team, especially on the defensive end," Kerr continued. "So it's not about what Jayson is doing or not doing."

Kerr explained further: "It's just about combinations and the way that group has played together, the way Kevin [Durant] has filled in since he came back from his injury. It's just a math problem more than anything."

Kerr's a fine coach. Jason will get his due. He's one of the youngest players on the team, and the coaches might just be comfortable playing players with the most experience against Nikola Jokic, who can win a game almost by himself.By the next Olympics, Tatum and others will be leading Team USA because James, Durant and Curry will be gone. The most important thing besides winning the gold, is getting those young players ready and motivated for the next games.
