Denny’s has closed 15 restaurants and warned that more could be on the way . The fast food restaurant shut a whopping 57 locations last year in several states across the US.

Fifteen restaurants locked up for good in the last fiscal quarter. The Ashland, Ohio, restaurant closed on July 20, with the nearby Ontario restaurant soon to follow, reported Ashland Source.

Pennsylvania has also been on the receiving end of shut-downs, with the chain sealing the doors of locations in Middletown Township and Bucks County. A Denny's spokesperson said closing a location is "never an easy decision."

Foodies have been hit hard by the closures , with many lamenting the restaurants as prime hang-out spots for teens in the 90s. One customer took to Facebook, writing: " Some good old-time memories at that place ."

Denny's has since revealed it closed 25 restaurants in the first quarter of this year alone. Robert Verostek, CFO, pointed to the pandemic, claiming the company was still grappling with the economic fallout from that period.

Denny's CEO, Kelli Valade, told investors things could be on the up soon , though. She has one trick up her sleeve to attract customers - the chain relaunching its $2-$4-$6-$8 value menu this summer.

"This wa s a value platform unique to Denny's that launched years ago with amazing results, and it's a unique entity only we have," she said on an earnings call.

"We're thrilled to bring back this consumer-friendly, traffic-driving platform based on extensive testing and reengineering."

Meanwhile, Wendy's much-loved drink is just $1 until the end of summer and foodies couldn't be happier . Frosty lovers should reach for their straws, spoons, and fries straightaway as this affordable treat won't be around for long .
