Jimmy Fallon's stint at the 2024 Paris Olympics Closing Ceremony has not gone down well with fans who called for his removal from the broadcast.

Viewers felt the mood was soured by Fallon's presence, which they claim overshadowed the celebratory atmosphere . NBC's Olympic coverage has generally been met with applause , despite some small technical issues , but Fallon has ruffled some feathers.

While engaging with Olympians, the talk show host made a quip to Katie Ledecky about "swimming home" that didn't sit well with audiences.

A disgruntled fan on X, formerly known as Twitter, demanding: "NBC, get Jimmy Fallon out of there NOW and bring back...this is ruining every good feeling I had left about the Olympics."

Another viewer lamented: "Imagine carrying out your country's flag in a roaring arena at the Olympics and you have *checks notes* Jimmy Fallon yapping in your ear."

As Fallon interacted with athletes during their moment in the spotlight , online reactions turned sour, with many feeling he was an unwelcome distraction.

One annoyed spectator commented: "NBC what the hell just let them walk the Olympics closing ceremony. What is this. Jimmy Fallon leave them alone PLEASE ."

This sentiment was shared by another fan who stated: "If I was a flag bearer representing my country at the Olympics and they were forcing me to talk to Jimmy Fallon instead of enjoying the moment I would say the c word on live national television."

One viewer expressed their dismay, recounting: " NBC bringing in Jimmy Fallon to comment on the Olympics closing ceremony might be the most embarrassing, shameful thing they've done yet. He asked Katie Ledecky if she's going to 'swim home.' I'm speechless,".

The disapproval of Jimmy Fallon isn't just limited to the Olympics. The 49-year-old has come under fire by ex-employees who him out for poor treatment , describing an environment akin to "walking on eggshells".

Amid these accusations, Fallon expressed contrition. In an apology he made to his team via phone , he is quoted as saying: "Sorry if I embarrassed you and your family and friends... I feel so bad I can't even tell you.
