Viewers at home were left underwhelmed when they heard the Olympic Closing Ceremony announcers introduce a karaoke segment .

As We Are The Champions by Queen rang out across the stadium during Sunday's ceremony, with athletes belting out the familiar tune, some couldn't help but notice their less-than-perfect pitch .

A selection of athletes were amplified for the spectators at home to witness and experience the out-of-tune serenade .

Reactions were posted on social media, as people expressed their opinions on the unexpected sing-along during the prestigious Olympic event. One viewer commented: "What was this whole 'Karaoke session', they couldn't even mix the songs properly or make sure they merge into each other well."

Another added their two cents saying, "Can we stop karaoke now and move on to something else." A third chimed in with, "Athlete Karaoke? Really?"

Some observers pointed out that the segment was more akin to a group vocal session rather than true karaoke, since the original song's vocals were still audible. "The French appear to have confused 'karaoke' with 'just playing a song,'" noted another viewer.

The Olympic Closing Ceremony commenced on Sunday, August 11, marking the end of weeks of intense competition among the world's best athletes. As Paris 2024 wrapped up, Team USA swimmer Katie Ledcecky emerged as the most decorated female swimmer of all time, the fifth most decorated Olympian in history, and tied with Russian Olympian Larisa Latynina for most gold medals won by a woman.

Simone Biles made history as the first American woman to win two Olympic all-around and vault gold medals. The US Women's Gymnastics team, comprising Simone, Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles, Suni Lee, and Hezly Rivera, clinched gold in the team all-around, an improvement from Tokyo 2020's silver medal.

The Olympics Opening Ceremony was held on the Seine River, with athletes journeying down the famous waterway on boats organised by country. Lady Gaga graced the event with her performance, and the ceremony concluded with an emotional performance from Celine Dion atop the Eiffel Tower - her first performance in years since being diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome.

Several celebrities, including Snoop Dogg and Colin Jost, have made appearances at the Olympics. The closing ceremony is set to feature Tom Cruise performing stunts to symbolize the passing of the torch from Paris 2024 to Los Angeles 2028.
