Hollywood star Tom Cruise performs incredible stunt at Olympics closing ceremony

Tom Cruise stole the show with a spectacular stunt at the Olympics Closing Ceremony tonight. The Mission: Impossible star's attendance had been speculated for some time.

It was later confirmed that he would indeed be making an appearance . Tom was reportedly selected to celebrate the Games' transition to Los Angeles , California in four years' time, following a successful run in Paris.

During tonight's Closing Ceremony, Tom made a dramatic entrance into the Stade de France as the Olympic flag was handed over .

Earlier this year, Tom was spotted filming for the Olympics , where he was captured climbing the iconic Hollywood sign, as part of a video that was broadcast tonight. The actor has been a regular face at the Games this year.

He was seen alongside pop sensation Ariana Grande , watching Simone Biles' extraordinary gymnastic performance. Tom's ex-wife Nicole Kidman and husband Keith Urban were also spotted at a skateboarding event, potentially setting the stage for an awkward encounter between the former spouses .

Tom Cruise is well-known for performing his own stunts , and recently, photos were obtained of the Hollywood star filming in Oxfordshire, where he was seen hanging from an upside-down flying plane.

"When the plane flips upside down, Cruise - who did not appear to be wearing a parachute - is left hanging off it," an insider revealed.
