NBA legend Steph Curry's wife, Ayesha, was left in tears after a run-in with French police following Team USA's victory over France at the Paris Olympics to clinch the gold medal. The Hollywood Fix captured footage showing Ayesha Curry wiping away tears while her mother-in-law, Sonya, was caught up in a fiery exchange with the Parisian police.

The cause of the intense standoff remains unknown, but during the altercation, the Golden State Warriors icon's mother was heard shouting about someone making contact with baby Caius Chai. Baby Caius Chai, the fourth child of Steph and Ayesha, was seen snugly strapped to his mother. Draymond Green, Curry's teammate from the Warriors, was present and echoed Sonya's claim, alleging that someone had struck the infant's head.

Sonya is heard in the video saying, "Look, they won't let us go back over there where we came from," and complained about being prevented from returning to their vehicle. "They won't let the driver come here and they won't let us go back over there."

Following an intervention by a translator, the police did offer an apology on site concerning baby Caius Chai. The Currys received an apology: "Sorry about the baby," the police said. It seemed the issue was that they were being blocked from reaching their transportation, reports the Mirror US .

Green is heard questioning: "So, even after him hitting the baby in the head, there's still nothing y'all can do to get them out of here? " Sonya continued, frustrated, "What? Stop saying my name. You should be helping us with the baby! " She insisted, "Let us get to our car."

Curry, alongside her son Canon who was wrapped in an American flag and standing next to his dad's teammate Green, faced a struggle to get out which put a damper on an otherwise historic night. Team USA clinched the gold with a 98-87 victory over France and basketball prodigy Victor Wembanyama.

Curry shone brightly with a team-high 24 points, nailing four three-pointers in the final 2:47, marking his first Olympics at the age of 36.

"Big shots after big shots, the level of difficulty of those shots, and the moment, it was tremendous," Joel Embiid remarked on playing alongside Curry. "Being his teammate, especially after playing against him and seeing him make all those crazy shots in the last couple of years, it's fun to be on that side.

"We have only been together for a short period of time, and we had one common goal and that goal was gold, hold each other accountable every single day to get better, and we did that every single day until the last game," LeBron James reflected. "It means everything. At this latter stage of my career, I don't know how many games I'm going to play, how many more big moments, so to have my family here means everything to me."
