A thrilling Cillian Murphy action movie available to stream on Netflix is a hit with viewers . Murphy has become one of the most in-demand actors in Hollywood today.

The Co Cork native was widely praised for his leading performance in 2023's Oppenheimer . In fact, the role earned him his first-ever Oscar for Best Actor.

Murphy has a huge slew of well-reviewed movies in his catalog. With so many to choose from, there are often great flicks starring the Irish actor that don't get the recognition they deserve.

One might say that one of those movies is Red Eye, a thrilling 2005 race-against-time flick starring Murphy alongside Rachel McAdams. Red Eye stars Murphy as Jackson, a man who is befriended by Lisa (McAdams) on a flight.

However, the audience soon learns that Jackson is actually a terrorist. He takes Lisa hostage and forces her to help him assassinate the United States Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security.

The film was originally released in 2005 and was met with good reviews. Currently, it has a critics score of 80 percent on Roten Tomatoes. While its audience score is lower at 64 percent, many still praise the movie for its intense performances from its stars and the storyline that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats.

"The nuanced performances from Cillian Murphy and Rachel McAdams are outstanding," said one viewer. Another commented: "I love the sudden change of pace, the performances are superb, Rachel McAdams and Cillian Murphy have great chemistry."

"An unconventional flick from Wes Craven, Red Eye is a fun and surprisingly effective psychological cat and mouse game with Rachel McAdams and Cillian Murphy," another said.

A fourth wrote: "High anxiety, emphasis on "high," make this film a memorable and intense thriller that leaves you on edge as the plane nears its final landing!"

However, not everyone was impressed by the movie. "The film lacks logical actions from the characters. There isn't even something where the pure action or the suspense makes up for the pure illogicality," said one reviewer.

Another unhappy viewer wrote: "It failed to deliver on its promise of heart-pounding suspense, instead taking me on a forgettable journey through clichés and missed opportunities."
