Caitriona Balfe shares 'emotional look' at Outlander's final table read at end of 'journey'

Outlander is set to come to an end after its eighth season and the cast and crew from the show are feeling emotional about saying goodbye . The Starz show first premiered in 2014 and has become a runaway success ever since.

Outlander has brought new levels of fame to its stars, namely Irish actress Caitriona Balfe and her on-screen husband Sam Heughan. Balfe plays Claire in the series, the woman who is mysteriously transported back in time to the Scottish Highlands.

As fans eagerly await the second half of the seventh season of the show , Caitriona Balfe decided to share a glimpse of the last-ever table read for Outlander. "Here we are …… 11 years 101 episodes and a whole lotta love, sweat and tears (and some blood)," she wrote in an emotional Instagram post.

Heughan also shared some snaps from the emotional day , writing on Instagram: "Final readthrough. Final block. Final season."

Passionate Outlander fans are currently awaiting the second half of the seventh season of the show. Set to premiere this November, it sees Claire and Jamie returning to Scotland after some time in America.

A premiere date for the eighth and final season of Outlander has yet to be announced. Meanwhile, fans have already got a sneak peek at the Outlander prequel series which is expected to premiere next year.

Outlander: Blood of My Blood will follow the parallel love stories of both Claire and Jamie's parents. Since cast details for the show were announced, fans have been buzzing to get their hands on the first few episodes.
