Kate Middleton has shared a poignant message as she continues her cancer treatment. The mother-of-three was diagnosed with the disease earlier this year following planned abdominal surgery, and has since stepped back from public duties to undergo preventative chemotherapy.

When she first announced her diagnosi s, the Princess of Wales encouraged others battling the disease to 'not lose faith or hope' , reassuring them that 'you are not alone'. She recently broke her silence in a heartfelt letter to the family of a father-of-two who tragically succumbed to the illness. She and William personally reached out to the family of pizza van owner Peter Morris , whom they met during a visit to Dowlais Rugby Club in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, after his passing in May.

Peter, the founder of Little Dragon Pizza Van company in 2016, had previously beaten oesophageal cancer. However, just four months after William and Kate's visit in April 2023, Peter discovered the disease had spread to his adrenal gland and liver, reports the Mirror . He sadly passed away at the young age of 47.

William and Kate were deeply saddened by Pete's loss, whose battle with cancer undoubtedly struck a chord given Kate's recent health struggles. They sent a letter of condolence to his widow Tracey, penned on official Kensington Palace stationery.

The heartfelt message that was shared at his funeral has since been publicized in The Sun, recounting: "We can only begin to imagine what an immense hole he will leave in your life and my heart goes out to you and your family.

"Catherine and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Pete. We know that Pete was a hugely dedicated and highly valued member of the community which has been evident from the response to his passing. I did want you to know just how much you and your family are in our thoughts at this time."

When speaking to the news outlet, Tracey, aged 40, expressed her amazement: "It came as a massive surprise. I don't even know how they found out Pete had died. It may have hit a chord with them because Kate is going through treatment. He said how down-to-earth they were. We had so many letters from people who loved Pete but the one from William and Kate was very special."

In an encounter at Pete's unique VW van conversion that serves pizzas, the Prince and Princess of Wales spent £127.50 on an assortment of pizzas totaling 12 for the team at Central Beacons Mountain Rescue, featuring flavors like margarita, pepperoni, barbecue chicken, and goat cheese.

Since Pete's untimely departure, the pizza van continues to trade, and a recent fundraising event held in his honour succeeded in raising in excess of £150 for the Hospice of the Valleys. Following this heartfelt occasion, the business conveyed their thanks on Facebook with the message: "We are increasingly grateful for the customer base that we have."

In May, the team at Little Dragon came forward on Instagram to mourn the loss of their boss Peter Morris, acknowledging his 'dedication and enthusiasm'. Their heartfelt message read: "We are saddened to inform you about the loss of our owner, Peter Morris. In 2016 Pete established Little Dragon Pizza, his dedication, enthusiasm, and effort have shaped the business into what it is today. Over the past eight years, Pete has given everyone great memories and great food.

"We were fortunate to call him as our boss and friend. His contagious passion will be remembered. We are committed to continuing the hard work he invested his time in and do him proud."
