Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's titles at risk in bombshell insider claim as royals gather to discuss 'easily' removable honor

The titles of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to be a topic of discussion at Balmoral next week , during the Royal Family 's annual summer gathering, according to Express.co.uk .

An extremely well-informed source revealed that one of the talking points at the so-called "royal family summit" will be the role of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex within the Royal Family in the coming decade.

"The Royal Family are meeting at Balmoral to discuss a number of different things, but one of them will be the Duke and Duchess of Sussex," the source stated.

The insider also pointed out that the Balmoral gathering is not just a summer holiday, but also includes pre-planned meetings where the family discusses their current standing and future plans.

"Last year was very much about honouring the Queen as it was the King's first time hosting the gathering since her death, but this will be about how the family can best move forward without the Sussexes."

The source added that not only will Harry and Meghan's tours and upcoming trip to Canada be on the agenda, but also their titles and peerages will be up for discussion. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who are due to embark on a semi-royal tour to Colombia tomorrow, August 15, were given their titles by the late Queen Elizabeth II on their wedding day, May 19, 2018.

Prince Harry holds the titles of The Duke of Sussex, Earl of Dumbarton, and Baron Kilkeel, and was appointed a Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order (KCVO) by Queen Elizabeth II in June 2015.

Meghan Markle is known as The Duchess of Sussex, Countess of Dumbarton, and Baroness Kilkeel.

Following their step back from Royal duties, the couple has been requested to stop using their HRH styles, which seems to have sparked their defiance against the Royal Family. A source mentioned that while King Charles can easily remove 'gifted' titles like Prince, it's more complicated with peerages.

"There could be a challenge made if any peerages are removed, so this is something that needs to be navigated extremely carefully," the source explained. "The title of Prince and HRH are both gifts from the sovereign and can be stripped quite easily, but Harry's Dukedom, Earldom and Barony will have to be removed by an Act of Parliament which could throw up a lot of unnecessary problems and unwanted media attention."

The source also noted that losing the Prince title could affect Archie and Lilibet's titles, but they could still use the Dumbarton titles, while their parents would simply be known as the Sussexes.

"It's a difficult one to navigate because the King is very conscious about his grandchildren," the source added.

"There have been ongoing discussions surrounding this matter, but no decisions have yet been made. This is something that will hopefully be concluded during talks between the King and other senior royals this summer."

Buckingham Palace has been approached for comment.

They left and came to America, so why do they need their titles?

I wished they would remove them all and be done with it
