Heartbroken Taylor Swift fan who missed out on seeing idol in Dublin is heading to London show after random act of kindness

An Irish girl who missed out on seeing Taylor Swift in concert is jetting to one of her London shows thanks to a team of kind strangers who stepped in and helped the super fan realize her dream of seeing her idol in the flesh.

Sophie O'Herlihy was heartbroken when her plans to see Taylor Swift at her Poland gig in March were scuppered by an eleventh-hour flight cancellation. The 10-year-old got the concert tickets as a Christmas present last year.

The youngster from Co Cork and her mom, Sarah, made a heartfelt plea for tickets after the gut-wrenching incident rendered Sophie's Christmas gift from Santa Claus, which she was due to claim on August 2, unusable.

Incredibly, their prayers were answered when Taylor Swift fans who learned about Sophie's misfortune stepped in to help the mother and daughter duo get a hold of last-minute tickets.

Overjoyed, mom Sarah shared on social media: "Tickets secured on Ticketmaster last night due to some lovely people sharing codes . We are on route to Wembley as we speak!"

On Wednesday, Sophie and Sarah hopped on a plane form Co Cork to London , buzzing with excitement for tonight's massive gig at Wembley, kicking off five consecutive sold-out nights.

Sophie previously had her friendship bracelets, temporary tattoos, and 'Red Era' outfit ready for the Warsaw show. Santa Claus' timely delivery came as thousands of Irish fans couldn't snatch tickets for Taylor's Aviva Stadium shows.

Sophie, her mom, and her grandmother, arrived at Cork Airport for their 6am flight to Amsterdam last Friday, where they planned to catch a connecting flight to the Polish capital. Despite booking tickets in advance , they couldn't get a direct flight from Dublin - probably as it was snapped up within minutes by other eager Taylor Swift fans.

Just fifteen minutes before take-off, the airline staff announced that the flight had been delayed due to a mechanical problem with the plane.

After unsuccessful attempts to fix the issue, the captain came out to inform the passengers that the flight had been cancelled . With no other options available, the family had to return home just as Taylor was about to perform.

There will only be tears of joy tonight, though, as Sophie gets another chance to see her sing her heart out on stage. Meanwhile, another Irish Taylor Swift fan who travelled to Vienna with her boyfriend to see the star on her Eras Tour has admitted her devastation over the cancelled gigs.

Two people were arrested on suspicion of planning a large-scale attack at events in the area around the Austrian capital near the Ernst Happel Stadium where Taylor's shows were due to take place.
