It’s hard to deny Sabrina Carpenter is at the peak of her career right now , however not everyone is a fan .

The Espresso singer has a new album, called Short n' Sweet, coming out Aug. 23. Her tour is then set to being Sept. 23 , hitting 29 cities across the U.S.

She's also made headline since going public with Oscar nominated boyfriend Barry Keoghan , who appear in her most recent music video for hit Please, Please, Please.

Internet users recently shared their thoughts on the singer in a Reddit thread . The original poster declared “I don’t get Sabrina Carpenter,” saying she is “so, eh.”

They wrote: “She just seems like a pop star from a mid-budget 00s romcom. Like what a 50-year-old writer thinks a pop star is.”

The poster continued on, saying she seems to be everyone right now, likely to do with a massive advertising campaign.

In the comments, people agreed that she seems overrated, saying her success was generated online.

One wrote: “She caught the algorithm. That’s literally all it ever is at this point. Audiences are fully unable to discern quality and the industry just follows and amplifies whatever is popping on TikTok and Spotify.”

Some relayed that her marketing is smart, even if some don’t prefer it.

“She says super crude stuff in her live performances so all the annoying Instagram addicted Gen Z girls can be like ‘yasss slayyyy girllll.’ Honestly a brilliant marketing scheme. I don't think we’d be talking about her at all if she hadn’t started doing all that.”
