"Another promise was no pet monkey, Chuck has a matching pet monkey with coordinating outfits," she quipped. "And I was like 'I would love to be part of the show, but I can't act with a monkey.' And then I got a few of them."

Her remark was met with strained reactions from her costars and prompted a repetition from someone on stage: "She's got a few of them," in what appeared to be an irritated tone. The social media whiz noted in their caption: "Probably not a good idea to call your coworkers monkeys and look at Leighton Meester lol," They went on to clarify, "For context - she is talking about things they made the creators of Gossip Girl promise her if she agreed to do a tv show.
