Prince Harry's US visa controversy seems to have reached a conclusion, as reports suggest a judge has made a decision on the matter. The Sun on Sunday reported that a new sealed document, not yet public, was submitted to a US court by Judge Carl Nichols.

This document pertains to a case initiated last year by a Washington DC -based think tank concerning the Duke of Sussex's visa application, following his shocking revelations about drug use in his memoir, Spare. The outlet now alleges that after four months of examining Harry's immigration documents, the judge has filed his ruling at a Washington DC court.

The document is only accessible to "authorized persons". Since 2020, the Duke of Sussex has resided in the US after stepping back from his Royal duties alongside wife Meghan Markle.

However, he found himself in a sticky situation after publishing his memoir Spare in January 2023, where he confessed to past recreational drug use, including cocaine, marijuana, and magic mushrooms. Questions arose about whether the duke had disclosed this information on his visa application when he moved to the US.

Under US law, drug use can be a reason to deny a visa application. Earlier this year, the Heritage Foundation think tank sought to make details of Harry's immigration records public and submitted freedom of information requests to the US Department of Homeland Security for their release, reports the Express .

A Royal commentator has suggested that Prince Harry might have second thoughts about the candid discussions of his past substance use in his autobiography.

Former BBC Royal reporter Jennie Bond shared with OK! magazine earlier this year: "Harry must regret having been so frank about drugs in his book. It really wasn't a necessary part of the narrative although I understand that he was trying to explain his mental health issues.

"But admissions like that can have consequences and, right now, he must be feeling the heat.

"In the end, though, I can't imagine that the USA would actually throw him out. Lawyers would find some way around it, I think. But it must be an unnecessary worry and embarrassment for Harry at the moment."
