The 2024/25 Premier League season has kicked off, and while the first weekend didn't throw up any major shocks, it certainly provided plenty of fodder for discussion on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football .

Gary Neville was in fine form, making the bold prediction that Liverpool would miss out on a top-four finish, with Manchester United and Chelsea taking their spots. But Neville's controversial comments weren't the only source of entertainment.

Jamie Carragher and Leicester City's Jamie Vardy also went head-to-head in a quiz. The Foxes had drawn 1-1 with Tottenham earlier in the evening, thanks to a goal from Vardy.

While he didn't clinch victory on the pitch, he did triumph in the quiz, despite finding one question 'disgusting'.

The pre-recorded segment saw the pair tackle a range of questions mostly related to the Premier League , such as which team has won the most opening weekend games and what the biggest first game scoreline has been.

Some questions were more personal, like "Jamie Vardy has more Premier League red cards than Jamie Carragher: True or False,". Carragher initially thought he held the dubious honour, recalling, "I got one at Fulham, one at Charlton,".

Vardy counted them out: "Stoke, West Ham, Wolves."

He went for the pundit based on the idea that it was unlikely for the previous answer to repeat itself. Vardy guessed Carragher, but got it wrong with the score settling at 3-2 red cards in favor of the current player.

In the quiz video, Vardy showed a bit of annoyance, yet it seemed over the wrong answer more than anything else. After the match, he did a little chat with the Monday Night Football team, capping off with host Dave Jones cheekily telling him to check out the quiz online.

"I'm sure that I did say congratulations to Carra, he'll have definitely beat me," Vardy admitted. "I couldn't believe I've been sent off more, that many times, it's disgusting," he said, causing the panel to burst into laughter.
