Fans have been left fuming after the cancelation of My Lady Jane . The historical fantasy series follows Lady Jane Grey and her husband Guildford, who lived during the reign of Edward, son of Henry VIII.

In the Amazon show Jane finds herself crowned queen overnight and becomes the target of criminals who want her throne and her head. The show received huge praise from both audiences and critics. Currently, it has an impressive Rotten Tomatoes score of 94 percent.

While it was well reviewed since it premiered, the show failed to garner a high enough viewership to be renewed for a second season. It didn't manage to appear on Nielsen’s Top 10 weekly streaming charts despite its dedicated fan base.

Gemma Burgess, the creator of the show, had previously shared what fans could expect from a second season of the show, which would have explored the adventures of Jane Grey in England under Queen Mary. The final episode of the first season of the show saw Jane making her escape from execution.

Social media users have expressed their severe disappointment at the show's cancellation. One person expressed: "Ugh. It was silly but fun and comforting in a way? Like a cozy fantasy novel. This makes me so mad."

Another said: "Nooooo, this was such a camp watch. Kate O'Flynn was a scene stealer."

A third wrote: "What?! I’m in the middle of it right now! Hopefully it ends well enough. I’m still disappointed that Hulu canceled The Great too."

A fourth commented: "I loved it - it was funny and fun and heartfelt... I enjoyed it more than the third season of Bridgerton in fact..."

Another said: "A truly foolish decision. The show could have certainly found an audience given another season. The team was new, let them find their feet. Grow the talent."
