He wrote: "And, finally, a huge thank you to my patient and incredible wife, Neda Morvillo, and my two strong, brilliant, and beautiful daughters, Sabrina Morvillo and Sophia Morvillo.

"None of this would have been possible without your love and support. I am so glad to be home. And they all lived happily ever after…." She said: "I held her afloat with all my strength, my arms stretched upwards to keep her from drowning. It was all dark. In the water I couldn't keep my eyes open. I screamed for help but all I could hear around me was the screams of others."

Charlotte is a partner at Mr Lynch's firm Invoke Capital having worked there since 2012. Her partner, James, who is Sofia's father, was also rescued from the yacht, according to Sicily's civil protection agency.

It doesn't make it any easier living with the heartache of those who have lost their lives or are missing. My very deepest condolences to the chef's family as they formed a great friendship."

Meanwhile the yacht's captain James Calfield has spoken from his hospital bed where he told Italian media: 'We didn't see it coming."

    Who's still missing?

A multi-team search is ongoing for Mike Lynch, Hannah Lynch, Jonathan and Judy Bloomer, and Chris and Neda Morvillo. Experts have said survivors could still be found in the wreckage of the yacht due to air pockets which may have formed.

The Italian coastguard has confirmed that five patrol boats from Palermo, Termini Imerese and Porticello are taking part in the large scale search for the missing passengers. A Catania coastguard helicopter has been deployed as well as a military one to aid the search which is being led by Palermo's coastguard.

Divers from Napoli and Messina are continually searching and a remotely operated vehicle is in use alongside naval units and cave divers. the coastguard said their efforts are "unabated", with "divers assessing the feasibility of safely entering the wreck, an operation complicated by the depth and position of the hull lying on the seabed at about 50 metres, half a mile from the port of Porticello".

Some concerns have been raised that an interruption in the search could occur due to the small risk of thunderstorms that are forecast later today. There is also the possibility if storms early in the afternoon on Friday and Saturday which could also hinder rescue efforts.
