Barry Keoghan promotes Manchester United kit but football fans have a brutal response

Manchester United is enjoying a new level of publicity after they chose Irish actor Barry Keoghan to promote their new kit.

The 2024/2025 kit launched last week and sales are reportedly booming . The third kit of the year typically experiences lower sales and is the least popular of the year. However, Keoghan has helped boost sales after he modelled the kit, created by Adidas, in the new promotional video.

The BAFTA-winning actor was cast in the campaign, after he spoke multiple times publicly about being a lifelong fan of the club. Keoghan shared the photos with his 2.7 million Instagram followers, leading to a surge in sales.

Some Man United fans were disappointed that the kit sold out quickly - most likely to fans of Barry and Sabrina, rather than fans of the team.

In the comments on Manchester United's posts showing Barry in the third kit, frustrated football fans asked: 'When is the restock happening?'

Another wrote: 'When is the tracksuit gonna be available on the site? I can't find it any more!'

Some were confused by the celeb endorsement. One wrote: "What's he got to do with United?"

"Whose this guy bruh?" another fan - clearly not a cinephile - asked.

Barry Keoghan’s rumored ex-girlfriend Sabrina Carpenter was also spotted wearing the kit, several weeks before it was released to the public. The pop princess was photographed in the unlikely attire sending football fans into a frenzy.

The couple has since been rumored to have split.
