Joe Rogan names one fight that would cause him to break his golden rule

Joe Rogan, the popular podcaster, has reiterated his decision to avoid international UFC events. However, he's willing to make an exception for one particular megafight .

From his podcast studio in Austin, Texas , Rogan expressed his willingness to travel anywhere, even beyond Earth, to cover one potential clash in particular .

The fight Rogan is desperate to see is between UFC middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis and light heavyweight titleholder Alex Pereira. "If Dricus goes up to 205 and fights Alex, oh my goodness, I'll fly to the moon to commentate that fight," he declared during his UFC 305 Fight Companion podcast.

Despite Du Plessis successfully defending his middleweight championship belt with a fourth-round submission of Israel Adesanya in Australia, Rogan was noticeably absent from his usual commentator seat next to the Octagon. The reason?

The 57-year-old podcaster has decided not to do international pay-per-view cards anymore due to his already demanding schedule.

"I signed for at least one more year. I was on the fence man, I just do too much", Rogan admitted. "I'm too busy. I don't know if I'm doing myself or all the other things I do a disservice."

Joe Rogan shared his decision to stop any extensive travel, stating: "I had a conversation with Dana [White], we had a bunch of conversations. What I decided to do was no more international travel. No more flying across the planet."

While commentating remotely, Rogan expressed admiration for Du Plessis' performance in Saturday's match: "He finished Izzy with a rear-naked choke," he commented during his podcast with Brian Simpson, Tony Hinchcliffe, and Brendan Schaub. "Nobody's finished Izzy like that in a fight ever in the UFC. No one's submitted him like that. That's a crazy victory."

Following Du Plessis' impressive win, Rogan contemplated the fighter's potential in a bigger division: "[Du Plessis] could definitely go to 205. Wouldn't you love to see him try? He can take a shot, for sure," Rogan noted. "But can you take a shot from [Pereira] and can you take a shot from that guy at 205? Because that guy at 205 puts everybody night-night. Everybody goes night-night."

Rogan will probably have to be patient before seeing Du Plessis bulk up and face off against fighters such as Pereira; the young contender is anticipated to defend his middleweight title against former champion Sean Strickland, who challenged him on social media after racking up ten straight wins.

Pereira is scheduled to clash with Khalil Rountree Jr. at UFC 307 on October 5.

The fight appears somewhat unexpected, given that "The War Horse" presently holds the No. 8 spot in the 205-pound division rankings.
