Liam Neeson's 'greatest performance' came in hilarious, underrated comedy

Liam Neeson is undoubtedly one of the best Irish actors of all time. While he is known for serious and intense films, one of his most underrated performances was a comedy role.

Neeson took on an unfamiliar role in the series Life’s Too Short, alongside Ricky Gervais and Warwick Davis. In the sitcom, different celebrities would make cameo appearances in different episodes. Liam Neeson ’s episode is hailed as one of the funniest, despite the actor not having done a lot of comedy work - which was ironically the theme of the episode.

In the scene, Neeson plays himself and tells Gervais, Davis, and Stephen Merchant that he wants to transition from his more serious acting roles into stand-up comedy. The hilarious scene shows an improvised comedy sketch between the actors, where Neeson repeatedly fails to get the hang of improv.

The comments on the video, which has been shared to Youtube, praise Neeson for his performance, hailing it as one of his best. The video itself has over 1.4 million views and thousands of comments, one @phousefilms writing: “This is one of the greatest comedy scenes of all time.”

Another commented, “My God, Neeson is terrific here,” with someone else responding, “I cannot understand why he doesn’t do more comedy.”
