Matthew Perry 's former girlfriend and ex-assistant, Kayti Edwards, has come forward following the charges against five individuals connected with his death , including his residential aide, two medics, and a woman referred to as "the ketamine queen".

Kayti, 47, is calling on the authorities to broaden their investigation . Highlighting the extensive network of questionable healthcare professionals who allegedly provided him with illicit substances for over ten years , she revealed that Perry ominously confided in her: "I'm in with the doctors."

Kayti told Mirror US : "There's a whole network of people beyond those facing criminal charges who the police need to investigate. Detectives need only delve back into his medical history. There are so many more doctors who have been on his books over the years who will be terrified right now. Whenever he was in active addiction, he knew instantly where to turn. It's a scandal."

Edwards, who went out with the 'Friends' celebrity back in 2006 and later took on a role as his assistant in 2011, stayed close to Perry until he passed away aged 54 in October 2023. Interestingly, Kayti is also the step-granddaughter of renowned British actress Julie Andrews.

She highlighted how Perry had had connections with prescribing physicians for numerous years, even if his drug preferences had recently shifted.

Commenting on his later life choices, she said, "Ketamine was his new thing, but it all started with unscrupulous doctors oversubscribing prescription pills like Vicodin," and reflected, "When the charges dropped, I knew they would be doctors.....because that was what he always did. I was not surprised."

Katyi revealed the tragic mindset of her former boss, explaining: "His addictive brain would think, 'Well, it was prescribed from a doctor so I can take it.' In his head, it wasn't like he was out on the street, scoring drugs."

She recalled her astonishment at the amount of medication he took, saying she used to question him: "I used to say to him 'How is it possible for someone to even get 50 to 60 Vicodin a day' and he told me 'I have an in with the doctors'. That was back in 2011 and continued up until his death" She noted that this went on until his untimely death. "He even had a nurse from the doctor's office bring him his Vicodin. I saw her as she used to literally deliver it to his door in return for envelopes of cash."

The investigation into his death revealed a disturbing collusion between doctors. Messages from doctor Salvador Plasencia showed a blatant disregard for the actor's wellbeing, with comments such as: "I wonder how much this moron will pay" and "let's find out".

Assistant Kenneth Iwamasa has confessed to a grave crime, admitting to "repeatedly injecting Perry with ketamine without medical training" after pleading guilty to conspiring to distribute ketamine causing death.

Kayti expressed her horror at the callousness with which they treated him, stating it was "awful" to hear them speak of him so disrespectfully and couldn't believe his current assistant continued to "feeding and feeding him drugs."

"It was just horrific that there was no duty of care," she remarks. "Matthew paid me very well as his assistant but there came a point for me that he got so bad that I had no choice but to walk away from that salary," she explains.

"But I knew that I could not watch him die. I would never, ever be able to live with myself."
