Walmart has teamed up with a popular fast food chain to offer "an exclusive dining benefit" for members of its subscription program .

The retail giant has forged a new partnership with Burger King as part of their push to draw customers through their membership app, Walmart+. Members will receive 25% off any Burger King digital order every day.

In September, members will also get a free Whopper every three months with any purchase. Walmart+ members can redeem the benefit by ordering online or through the BK App. Walmart said members will need to link their Walmart+ membership with their existing Burger King Royal Perks account to avail of the offer.

  • Walmart announced the new partnership in a press release, saying: “This unique benefit is designed to save members time and money, catering to their fast-paced lifestyles where grocery shopping, meal planning and cooking may not always be feasible."

"Given that most Americans eat from quick service restaurants several times a week, this benefit serves as a practical, cost-effective solution to accommodate dining preferences and busy schedules while enjoying the iconic taste of Burger King."

Fast food chains nationwide have experienced lower customer traffic in recent months. Burger King has joined several other chains in introducing new low-cost meal deals to entice customers back into their restaurants. They recently launched the $5 Your Way Meal - a combo meal which offers the choice of one of three sandwiches, nuggets, fries, and a drink for just $5.

Walmart has also dished out more than 7,200 rollbacks or temporary price cuts on goods. This includes a 35% increase in the number of rollbacks in food, which has particularly been a pain point for households.
