Ireland's 'best bar' with 'delicious cocktails' has been named - and it's not in Dublin

The best bar in Ireland has been named at a recent awards ceremony . While many people might expect the best bar in Ireland to be in the mega-touristy Dublin , it is actually in Cork.

The title of the best bar in Ireland went to Paladar in Co Cork . The Bar of the Year awards took place in Dublin this week and recognized the very best of bars and pubs across the country .

Paladar is a Latin American-inspired cocktail bar that has received hugely positive reviews since it opened. The spot has been serving delicious cocktails and food since it launched in October 2022 and has shown no signs of slowing down since.

"After rigorous evaluation and deliberation by an esteemed panel of industry experts only the best in the industry were crowned winners," award organizers said.

"Amongst many other winners on the night, The Cocktail Bar, The Merchant Hotel in Co. Antrim took home Gold for "Five Star Hotel Bar of the Year" Sponsored by London Essence, while Pig's Lane took home Gold for "Innovative Bar of the Year", Sponsored by O'Drsicolls Irish Whiskey."

There were a slew of winners on the night, as well as a number of bars and pubs that were awarded the People's Choice Award. They included McHugh's Bar in Co Leitrim , McGowan's in Dublin, Silken Thomas in Co Kildare , and The Locke Bar in Co Limerick .

Meanwhile, Conor McGregor's Black Forge Inn, located in his native Crumlin neighborhood of Dublin, won the award for Bar Food. The 'Best Bar to Watch the Match' award went to Woolshed Baa & Grill in Co Cork.

Additionally, there was the award for Best Live Entertainment which went to 4 Dame Lane in Dublin City Centre. Meanwhile, the prize for Hotel Bar of the Year went to Inchydoney Island Lodge & Spa.
