A Cillian Murphy thriller with a star-studded cast has won a number of fans online , although not everyone loved it.

Also starring Sigourney Weaver and Robert De Niro, Red Lights follows a psychologist and her assistant, who investigate fraudulent paranormal occurrences.

Murphy's character, Tom, becomes obsessed with Simon Silver (Robert De Niro), a legendary psychic.

The movie, released in 2021, scored a score on Rotten Tomatoes from over 10,000 ratings of 36 percent.

Justin Craig of Fox News wrote: "A fun caper thinly veiled as a supernatural thriller - a mystery loaded with all the tricks and devices recently made popular by M. Night Shyamalan."

Bruce DeMara, of the Toronto Star called it "a clever thriller, bolstered by three great performances."

A viewer watched: "Liked it. Didn't see the ending coming. I thought it was going to stay cerebral, but then it introduced the supernatural all the way at the end."

Another said: "Solid Movie, don't get the bad reviews."

Sadly, there were some less favorable reviews. One wrote: "Red Lights should never have got the green light. Unfortunate that such an awesome cast went to waste on such a slow, convoluted, and pointless film."

Another wrote: "Perception vs reality was a great theme of the movie. Unfortunately, the pieces of this thriller (not even close to horror) were so messy that the likes of Weaver, De Niro and Murphy couldn't salvage it."
