Conor McGregor has accused Floyd Mayweather of breaking a verbal agreement for a rematch in the cage . McGregor, who made his professional boxing debut against Mayweather seven years ago today, lost in the 10th round but earned £100million from the fight.

It was the second most-watched bout in history , only surpassed by Mayweather's victory over Manny Pacquiao.

During an interview on Fox Sports, McGregor claimed he should have had the opportunity to avenge his defeat in MMA . "That was the original," he said.

"It was a verbal agreement, I box him, and he fights me. But you know, he didn't honor it. He didn't honor it yet. Who knows? I would go against him in another boxing bout, I'd like another crack at it.

"I can always say it is another boxing fight and then just bend the rules a little bit when we're in there maybe."

UFC CEO Dana White also expressed interest in a second fight under his banner. When asked about a potential rematch in the cage, he responded, "I don't know, we'll find out. I'm interested. Obviously he's interested, and the last time we were both interested you saw what happened. I know Conor wants it."

McGregor has repeatedly boasted that he outperformed Mayweather at several points during their bout, and he believes a rematch would end in his favor. McGregor provocatively claimed on Twitter, "Don't forget, I played ping pong with Floyd's head," though he subsequently removed the post. He explained his strategy: "I carried him!

Mayweather secured his fiftieth professional win when he triumphed over McGregor and has pursued a series of money-spinning exhibition fights since. Despite underwhelming action last weekend, Mayweather clinched victory once again in his Mexican rematch against John Gotti III after eight unremarkable rounds marked by an incident where Mayweather dismissed the referee mid-fight.
