Bruce Springsteen made it clear that retirement is not on his agenda any time soon. The music legend told crowds at a show on Friday, “we ain’t quitting!”

Rumors swirled in recent months that Springsteen and his band were gearing up for a farewell tour after half a century touring the world. The 74-year-old shut the rumors down once and for all at his show at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia .

Springsteen said: “We’ve been around for 50 ------- years, and we ain’t quitting! We ain’t doing no farewell tour -------! Jesus Christ! No farewell tour for the E Street Band!”

  • “Farewell to what?” he added, “a thousand people screaming your name? Get the hell out. I ain’t going anywhere!”

The Philly show was part of their lengthy tour, The Springsteen and E Street Band Tour, which has visited cities across the US and Europe, including four nights in Ireland.

Fans who missed out on the magic, or want to relive the gig can look forward to the upcoming documentary, Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen And The E Street Band, which is set for release on Disney+ and Hulu this October.

A biopic of Springsteen’s life and career is also in the works, with The Bear star Jeremy Allen White taking on the role of The Boss .
