McDonald's finally bringing back fan-favorite to the US as customers rant 'I need this right now'

McDonald's fans have something to look forward to with the tantalizing return of a popular chicken sandwich in the US imminent .

Reports suggest that the Chicken Big Mac is set to make its big return to McDonald's this year in an exciting menu update for fast food lovers, and it's not the only new burger posied to hit the menu . Food Blogger Snackolator announced the big news on Instagram as they shared an update with their followers.

They said: "McDonald's is *finally* bringing the Chicken Big Mac to the US this year and I am really curious to see what everyone thinks!" The post also described the composition of the sandwich as it described it as the same as a standard big Mac but "instead of two 'all beef patties' you will be getting two 'tempura chicken patties.'"

They continued: "This was so popular in the UK and Australia that they had to pull it from the menu due to supply issues (remember the Popeye's Chicken Sandwich launch?) so it will be very interesting to see how this does nationwide - it was tested in the Miami area in late 2022."

Excited followers then took to the comments section to share their joy over the announcement of the big burger's return. One posted: "Omg need rn." A second said: "I’m in!!! Can’t wait for the US release!!!" while another commented, "BIG YES!!!"

A third wrote: "We had it in Canada last year, it was actually good. It's like a big chicken nugget in between the Big Mac toppings." A fourth enthused: "This oughta be a good one!"

But it seems not everyone was excited by the prospect as some users admitted they won't be rushing to order a Chicken Big Mac. One said: "We don’t want this one bro," with another declining the taste test saying "lol no thank you."

McDonald's CEO Chris Kempczinski teased the Chicken Big Mac's return back in March when he did a taste test video comparing it to an original beef Big Mac. He said in the Instagram video: "I've got on my right, here, the classic McDonald's Big Mac, which you all know and love. I certainly love it, and then we have the Chicken Big Mac, which has been on our menu before, and it's coming back to make a reappearance."

A release date for the burger is yet to be announced.
