Following his successful four-day tour of Colombia with wife Meghan Markle less than a month ago, Prince Harry has officially revealed the details of his next solo venture . The Duke is set to visit New York City in September.

The announcement was made on August 27 by a spokesperson for the Prince, who confirmed that his visit will coincide with the UN General Assembly High-level Week and Climate Week in NYC.

Climate Week begins on September 22 and ends on September 29, while High-level Week takes place from September 23 to September 27.

As per the announcement, 39 year old Harry will be in New York City to "advance a number of his patronages and philanthropic initiatives."

During his time in the Big Apple, "he will participate in engagements with African Parks, The HALO Trust, The Diana Award, and Travalyst," added the spokesperson.

Furthermore, Harry will also "be furthering the work of The Archewell Foundation, the nonprofit organization he co-founded with his wife Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex."

Interestingly, despite having undertaken two high profile trips this year with his wife Meghan, to Nigeria back in May and Colombia earlier this month - Harry's upcoming trip will be a solo trip with a keen focus on supporting causes close to his heart.

This trip will also coincide with another significant event happening in the city at the same time, as Prince William's Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit, is also due to take place on September 24.

Prince William, 42, initiated the competition in 2020 with the primary aim of encouraging impactful and sustainable solutions to some of the planet's most pressing environmental issues, including conservation, deforestation, and climate change.

The Prince intends to award £1 million Earthshot Prizes in five categories each year until 2030 as part of the annual competition.

It is still uncertain whether Prince William will be present at the summit in person, but he did attend last year. The late September date of this year's summit also coincides with the return of his children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, to school after a lengthy summer holiday.

Prince Harry's forthcoming trip to New York will also be significant for him, as it will be his first visit to New York City since October 2023, following The Archewell Foundation Parents' Summit: Mental Wellness in a Digital Age last year.

The crucial summit gathered parents who had suffered tragic losses related to their child's use of social media, and the Duke and Duchess engaged in a poignant discussion on stage with Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, moderated by Carson Daly.

The couple, clearly dedicated to safeguarding children online, even launched a new initiative earlier this year linked to that summit. They announced the creation of The Parents Network just before Meghan turned 43 at the beginning of the month.
