A new study has claimed to reveal Ireland's "happiest" holiday destination . Tourists in Ireland often post smiling photos of their time on the Emerald Isle , posing in front of some of the country's most famous tourist attractions .

However, apparently some areas of the country invoke more happiness than others. The study was carried out by InsureandGo.

They used facial recognition technology to reveal the happiest holiday hotspots from all over the globe. One certain spot in Ireland has ranked among the top 15 happiest places in the world for tourists, according to the study.

The study analyzed over 3,000 Instagram posts across 100 of the world’s most popular holiday destinations. Then, AWS (Amazon Web Services) Rekognition software was used to assess the smile score of people’s expressions in the pictures.

For each destination, an average smile score was created, which was then used to rank the happiest holiday hotspots. Ireland's Co Kerry was placed at the number 11 spot.
