Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are seldom mentioned in Royal circles , but when they are, it's not by name .

In the new book 'A Voyage Around The Queen' by Craig Brown, released today, which delves into the late Queen Elizabeth II's private life and Harry and Meghan's move to Los Angeles after their Royal departure in 2020, it's revealed that they've been given a rather stark nickname .

Broadcaster Gyles Brandreth was quoted in 2022 saying the Sussexes are known as "persons who live overseas".

He elaborated: "These days, the names of Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, do not crop up very often in court circles... When they do, courtiers flinch almost imperceptibly and change the subject - or, if that's not possible, refer to them obliquely as 'persons who live overseas'."

The broadcaster said, "Mention the Sussexes to other members of the Royal Family... and they simply smile briefly and say, 'We wish them all the best' - and nothing else."

The Montecito-based pair have made few visits back to the UK after stepping down from Royal duties, appearing only for pivotal events like the funerals of Harry's grandparents and the King's Coronation, which Harry attended solo. Following King Charles' public cancer diagnosis announcement, Prince Harry briefly visited the UK for a quick touch-base with his father at Clarence House, but he hastily returned to the US.

Moreover, the Earl of Snowdon shared his thoughts on the couple's split from the royals, noting in one part of the book: "The Royal Family is quite good at blanking out anything unpleasant or uncomfortable."

Prince Harry's memoir, Spare, is set to hit the shelves in a paperback edition this autumn, following its hardback release in January 2023. Penguin Random House, the publisher, announced that the Duke of Sussex's book will be published in America on October 22 and in the UK on October 24.

While it's typical for paperback editions to feature new chapters or additional information, the contents of this one will remain "unchanged". However, Prince Harry has made a significant decision regarding the memoir's publicity.
