Top 10 World War II films ranked with some surprise omissions

There are countless World War II films, some better than others , with many of the finest focusing on Britain's role in the battle against Hitler.

The popular movie database IMDb has compiled a list of the Top 10 British World War II films ever made , and surprisingly, The Bridge on the River Kwai didn't clinch the top spot.

Take a look at the complete list below , which includes a few co-productions with the Americans. However, they still qualify due to their emphasis on British participation in the most lethal conflict in history.
