Barry Keoghan joins Cillian Murphy in cast for highly-anticipated 2025 movie

Barry Keoghan has been added to the cast of the highly anticipated Peaky Blinders movie.

The Saltburn star was announced to be joining the film Thursday, starring alongside Cillian Murphy and Dune star Rebecca Ferguson. While Murphy is stepping back into the shoes of his iconic character Thomas Shelby, it's unclear what role Keoghan or Ferguson will play.

Netflix greelighted the Peaky Blinders film in June after Murphy won his first Oscar for the titular role in Oppenheimer. Keoghan has also been nominated for the prestigious award following his performance in the Banshees of Inisherin.

The movie will be a continuation of the award-winning series created by Steven Knight. It’s set to be directed by Tom Harper, who’s previously directed episodes of the drama.

He told Deadline in the past the story would be set during World War II. Other than that, the story line has been kept under wraps. Production is anticipated to start later this year.

The Dublin native has taken Hollywood by storm over the last few years. Recently, he's been the subject of news regarding the status of his relationship with girlfriend Sabrina Carpenter, along with her newest album.
