Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's 'real reason' to limit photos of Archie and Lilibet

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reluctant to share images of their two children due to concerns for their safety.

The royals first became parents to Prince Archie in 2019, who is now five, and later to Princess Lilibet in 2021, who is three. After relocating stateside while Archie was still an infant , the Sussexes have set up their lives in Montecito, California , with their brood.

Discussing the pair's decision to keep their tots away from public view , a mate of Meghan has told US Weekly: "I think every parent wants to share their kid with the world, but they just can't."

The friend added, speaking about the disparity in security measures, "[Prince] William's kids, for example, have way more safety, even though they're recognizable."

Meghan's pal went on to say: "And the same doesn't apply to Meghan and Harry's children. They know the world wants to see [them but] I would expect them to live smaller lives until that gets sorted, if it ever does."

Known for his outspoken nature regarding his fear of insufficient security during UK visits, Prince Harry highlighted these concerns last month on the ITV documentary 'Tabloids on Trial'.

He also shared his apprehensions about his wife facing risks in the UK, saying on the programme: "All it takes is one lone actor, one person who reads this stuff, to act on what they have read, and whether that is a knife or acid... they are genuine concerns for me, they are one of the reasons I won't bring my wife back to this country."

Like their mother, Archie and Lilibet last visited the UK in 2022. The youngsters, then aged one and three, journeyed to the UK with Harry and Meghan to join in the celebrations for the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

Despite the fact that the couple has not shared many photos of Archie and Lilibet, the children did appear in their Netflix docuseries in December 2022.

The six-part series featuring Harry and Meghan included home videos of both Archie and Lilibet growing up - including a clip of Lilibet taking her first steps.

Fans were also treated to clips from Meghan's pregnancy with their daughter, Archie baking with Meghan's niece Ashleigh, and photographs of a newborn Lilibet.
